Key questions answered regarding NDIS support coordination levels, pricing transparency, and provider management in Perth.
Support Coordination is a capacity-building support funded in many NDIS plans that helps you understand your plan, connect with the right service providers, and get the most out of your funding. It's about building your confidence and skills to manage supports, not just making introductions.
There are three: Support Connection (Level 1), which builds your own capacity to connect with supports; Coordination of Supports (Level 2), the most common level, where a coordinator actively helps you connect with and manage multiple providers; and Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3), for participants facing more complex barriers, delivered by a practitioner with specialist skills.
Support Coordination is funded through your NDIS plan under Capacity Building, so if it's included in your plan there's no separate out-of-pocket cost — A13 Community Care claims against your funded hours directly. Pricing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits set annually by the NDIS Commission.
Support Coordination is often most valuable exactly when you have multiple providers, since a core part of the role is making sure those providers communicate and work together toward your goals, rather than operating in isolation.
